Legends & Logging Days celebrates the area's logging heritage, bringing World Champion Lumberjacks and Lumberjills to compete in wood chopping, sawing, ax throwing and other contests, reminiscent of the days when pioneers came to the north woods to make a living and stayed to build our towns.
Festivities kick off on Thursday night at 6 pm, August 7, downtown Park Rapids on Main Street with Water Wars.
Teams of 4-6 people battle it out for bragging rights and ownership of the "Loony Traveling Trophy" for the year!
A $5 wristband gets you into the action and events both days!

Master Chainsaw Scupltors begin creating masterpiece carvings early Friday morning.
Right before your eyes the sawdust flies and huge logs begin to take shape into beautiful pieces of art.
Final touches are put on the masterpiece sculptures Saturday morning before being put up for auction to the highest bidders that afternoon.
Friday, Logging Demos will be held, sharing equipment and technique used by the professionals. Loggers take center stage again on Saturday, sawing, chopping and throwing axes, competing to see who will take home the prize money!
