Menahga

St. Urho, the patron saint of the vineyards who drove the grasshoppers out of Finland, has been embraced by the Finnish settlers of Menahga. St. Urho's Day (March 16) is now recognized in all 50 states. And as you might expect, Menahga's annual St. Urho's Day celebration offers fun activities and ethnic cuisine. In July, Menahga celebrates with a Midsummer Festival. Also called "Gateway to the Pines," Menahga offers fishing in some of the state's cleanest lakes and many extraordinary beaches.
