Jaspers  Theater - Hwy 34 East, Park Rapids.

Long Lake Theater - in historic downtown Hubbard. The Long Lake Theater starts its 8th season entertaining audiences with a line-up of top-notch comedies, drama and musicals. With the addition of the cozy, 100-seat Landmark Theater last year, Long Lake Theater now has two intimate theaters for quality, family-friendly entertainment. Minnesota Folklore Theater - recently relocated from Akeley to 405 Minnesota Avenue in Walker. MFT is dedicated to performing plays and musicals about Minnesota and the Midwest, furthering the knowledge and appreciation of our culture and heritage. Productions also honor plays and musicals that have created history in the Minnesota arts. Northern Light Opera Company -Park Rapids. The Northern Light Opera Company starts its second decade of productions with Rodgers and Hammerstein’s well loved Sound of Music July 27, 28 and 29 and Aug. 2, 3 and 4 at the Park Rapids Area High School Auditorium. All shows start at 7:30 p.m. with the exception of a Sunday matinee, July 29, which starts at 3 p.m. After a successful run on Broadway in 1965, Sound of Music was made into a film musical starring Julie Andrews and winning 5 Academy Awards. The movie has won the hearts of many and the original cast has had numerous reunions and publicity events. In 2010, the cast members were interviewed on Oprah and the Today Show to introduce the forthcoming book about the production. As part of NLOC’s first week’s performances, plans are to have Debbie Turner Larson (who played Marta, the 2nd youngest member of the family) lead a pre-concert discussion about the making of the movie and subsequent experiences. Woodtick Musical Theater, Akeley. Bringing music and comedy to the Northwoods since 1992, the Woodtick Theater personifies the spirit of music and comedy of the popular public radio show, Prairie Home Companion. And though it may not look like Nashville's Grand Old Opry, the talent of its performers seems to leave audiences just as satisfied. The additional dimension of actors on a stage, sets, lighting, costumes, brings the whole thing to life. Woodtick Theater's two-hour show features country, bluegrass, folk and gospel music, comedy skits, lighthearted instrumentals, harmonicas, fiddles and guitars.
